Welcome

....to the web site of the Rocky Bay Pipe Band, a group committed to playing quality Scottish music, with a healthy dose of fun for all ages and abilities.

This web site to let you know about Central Maine's premier pipe and drum band; where we practice, how to learn to play the bagpipes and Scottish drums, where we will be performing, what kind of music we play, and how to contact us.

Rocky Bay places 1st at NH Indoor Games!

The first EUSPBA sanctioned competition of our 2008 season was held on April 5, in Concord, NH.

Members have been working on a new competition set over the winter, and it's coming together very nicely! Out of the 7 bands competing in Grade 5, Rocky Bay placed first!

We are looking forward to future competitions in northern New England throughout the summer as well as performances at several parades and special events. Check our calendar page for updates.

We are always interested in having new members join our ranks. We are fortunate to have several talented pipers and drummers who look forward to working with players of all levels and provide instruction at no charge during our weekly practice sessions in Augusta.

Drum Major Wanted

Rocky Bay is seeking to add a Drum Major to its ranks.

The Drum Major will represent the band with pride, stature, and integrity, leading the marching band in its maneuvers.  The Drum Major should have an understanding of pipe and drum music well enough to perform the needed elements for a sharp, rhythmic performance, including appropriate flourishing routines.  The Drum Major may serve as the band's spokesman at times and will work closely with the Pipe Major, who is the ultimate authority for the band.  If you are interested in this position or want more information on how to become a Drum Major, please contact Pipe Major Carlton Burke by clicking here
